At MagicCon: Amsterdram today, we received another handful of spoilers for the upcoming Bloomburrow Standard set!
In Bloomburrow, the setting is a plane inhabited solely by adorable anthropomorphic animals, completely devoid of humans.
During the preview panel for Bloomburrow, we were treated to a first look at a new cycle of manlands and a handful of intriguing cards that delve deeper into the set’s lore and background.
Below, you’ll find all the new cards revealed today for Bloomburrow:
Bloomburrow Spoilers: Ravenous Squirrel
Starting off, we have Ravenous Squirrel, the Open House promo for Bloomburrow. Attend and get a copy of Ravenous Squirrel, plus another if you bring a friend to your local game store, while supplies last.
Ravenous Squirrel reintroduces hybrid mana, payable with either a single black or green mana.
For a one-mana creature, it’s quite effective. It can pump itself to a notable size and includes built-in card draw.
Bloomburrow Spoilers: Salvation Swan
Next up is Salvation Swan. As you can see, creature types are becoming significant. Salvation Swan offers a recurring blink effect whenever you cast a Bird. Additionally, it grants flying to your creatures.
During the preview panel, it was highlighted that this plane emphasizes animals banding together to combat calamities. This creature exemplifies that lore by granting one of your other creatures the ability to fly.
On the right, you’ll notice the new Showcase Woodland frame introduced in the Bloomburrow set.

Early Winter showcases the effects of the Calamity Beasts, which bring about changes in climate and the environment.

Otters are one of the creature types we will often see in blue for Bloomburrow. That’s a nugget of wisdom for you.
Bloomburrow Spoilers: Might of the Meek
Here we can see an animalfolk confronting a calamity in Bloomburrow. This card also offers a new take on Ancestral Anger. It serves as both an instant combat trick and a one-mana draw spell for red, something we often see. Typically, this effect occurs at sorcery speed
Bloomburrow Spoilers: Carrot Cake
The set showcases its charm with simple cards like Carrot Cake. Are Bloomburrow’s creatures vegetarians? Perhaps there are some questions we shouldn’t ask in an anthropomorphic plane.
Bloomburrow Spoilers: Lands & Creature Types
According to MTG, “Bloomburrow is full of cute creature types, with each color pair having an associated type. All of them are represented in the various Villages shown here!”
Those are all the previews for Bloomburrow today. The prerelease is scheduled for July 26 to August 1, with the MTG Arena release on July 30 and the global release on August 2.
Other spoilers revealed today include dozens of cards for Duskmourn: House of Horror, and a new Standard set that won’t rotate for five years!
