Magic: The Gathering previewed a new legendary creature from the Bloomburrow set today. Hugs, Grisly Guardian was revealed in the Episode 3 Magic Story article on Daily MTG.
It’s our first Gruul legendary creature reveal from Bloomburrow, and the stats are quite impressive. MTG may have been disappointed when Anzrag, the Quake-Mole fell flat in Karlov Manor, but Hugs could be even better.
Here’s the new legendary badger warrior:
Those are some impressive stats. Early game, you’re getting a 5/5 trampler for 4 mana, which is already above rate. Then, you’ll get to ramp faster. Late game, Hugs turns into card advantage.

This is the last spoiler we’ll get until Bloomburrow previews officially kick off on July 9 with the Bloomburrow Debut Stream on the MTG Twitch account.
