Duskmourn just dropped new daily spoilers this morning, and one of the cards getting the most attention is a new finisher for Boros-based token decks in Commander.

Additionally, a powerful control and delve-like finisher for blue decks was revealed, along with a Manifest Dread X spell that showcases the recent rise in power creep. Let’s take a look!

Arabella, Abandoned Doll – Token Finisher

Arabella, Abandoned Doll

First up is Arabella, Abandoned Doll. Her finishing power lies in her ability to deal damage to every opponent. Got ten 1/1 tokens in play? Arabella will deal an additional 30 damage on her attack trigger in Commander (she includes herself). This damage doesn’t target and isn’t combat damage, allowing it to bypass cards like Fog.

Arabella is perfect for Commander token decks that focus on doubling counters or running a power 2 or less strategy. Many players find keeping track of token power/toughness with cards like Cathars’ Crusade tedious, and Arabella offers alternative finishing options.

Abhorrent Oculus – Standard Delve

Abhorrent Oculus

Abhorrent Oculus could become a formidable threat in Standard with the right support cards. It’s a 5/5 for 3 with flying that creates a 2/2 token every turn. This could be excellent in a Dimir Delve strategy, which quickly fills your graveyard and counters your opponent’s threats.

While exiling six cards might seem steep, if you’re playing any mill cards or fetch lands like Fabled Passage, it becomes much more achievable. And if you’re running a control strategy, you’re typically not dropping your win conditions until mid-game anyway.

Valgavoth’s Onslaught – X Token Power Creep

Valgavoth's Onslaught
Gelatinous Genesis has received some serious power creep here, which is necessary since this style of card has been largely unplayable in the past. At its worst, Valgavoth’s Onslaught gives us a 3/3 for 3 mana, which is underwhelming for green but still playable against aggro or in a pinch. At 5 mana, you get two 4/4s, and at 7 mana, you get three 5/5s. Those are some pretty respectable stats.

This is a card you’ll be happy to include in any X-spells-matter deck, at the very least. It also involves +1/+1 counters and can synergize well in proliferate-style decks.

That’s it for today’s Duskmourn spoiler roundup! Stay tuned for more updates and card previews throughout the week!
