Hasbro is doubling down on its Magic: The Gathering crossover strategy, unveiling an ambitious 2025 release schedule for its Universes Beyond product line during Thursday’s investor call.
The gaming giant continues to position Magic: The Gathering as a key revenue driver, with executives emphasizing the critical role of these pop culture crossover sets in the franchise’s future growth plans.
During Hasbro’s Q3 2024 earnings call, executives outlined their release timeline for the upcoming year.

Wizards of the Coast has previously confirmed its upcoming Final Fantasy collaboration will be a full, draftable expansion set for Magic: The Gathering.
Speaking to Polygon, WotC vice president Aaron Forsythe and senior product designer Daniel Nguyen revealed the Spider-Man set will similarly be draftable with tentpole status, unlike some previous crossover products.
Years of MTG x Marvel Universes Beyond Sets Confirmed
In addition to providing a timeline of UB releases for 2025, Hasbro also confirmed a long pipeline of future Marvel products for MTG.
We at New York Comic Con announced the Spider Man set, which will be the 1st major set we’re doing with Marvel. We have multiple sets that will happen over the next like 4 or 5 years with Marvel. And you can imagine what a Spider Man and Spider Verse set might be able to do from a revenue perspective. Looking at Magic next year, as we look out to 2025 Magic is going to be kind of a core part of our thesis in terms of top line growth. We have Final Fantasy which will come out in June.
Hasbro Third Quarter 2024 Earnings Conference Call
MTG previously announced there would be years of Marvel MTG products, but this is the first time we’re hearing plans for half a decade of crossover releases with the franchise.
With Spider-Man announced as the first Marvel Universes Beyond tentpole set and a 4-5 year timeline confirmed, future sets will likely revolve around individual characters or isolated teams, similar to how the MCU built out its movie franchise.
In other MTG news, Hasbro also revealed today that they expect the MTG x Marvel Secret Lair drops to sell out immediately on release, all but confirming fears by MTG players that the product will be heavily scalped and hard to obtain.
