Miracle Worker Upgrade Guide: Best Cards To Add

Are you looking to upgrade the Miracle Worker precon from Duskmourn with the best cards for Commander? We’ve got you covered!

The Miracle Worker deck is missing a handful of powerful MTG cards that can bring it to the next level. The key to this deck is stacking your deck (legally, of course) and having high-end payoff enchantments.

The face-Commander that we will be upgrading is Aminatou, Veil Piercer.

Aminatou wants us to run big enchantments and arrange the top of our library. She also has a built-in surveil 2 to help achieve this independently.

For this list, we are focused on cards that are on-theme for Aminatou and the Miracle Worker build. We did not include generally powerful cards that are not theme-focused.

There are, however, some extremely powerful tutors not on this list that you may want to consider running if they are appropriate for the power level of your community. They are Vampiric Tutor, Imperial Seal, Mystical Tutor, Enlightened Tutor, and Personal Tutor. These all put the searched-for card on top of your library, so that you can miracle them as you draw them.

Without further ado, here is our list of the Top 12 Best Miracle Worker Commander Precon Upgrades:

#1 Scroll Rack

Scroll Rack

Scroll Rack is one of the most powerful hand-filtering cards ever printed. You can grab an entirely new set of 7 cards every turn and put a card from your hand back on top to miracle. Adding this card to the Miracle Worker precon will immediately add a noticeable level of power and consistency.

#2 Sensei’s Divining Top

Sensei’s Divining Top has a reputation for slowing down games, but if you’re running a miracle deck, how could you pass on it? This is the kind of deck Divining Top was made for. So go ahead, spin away and miracle whatever is on top.

#3 Baneful Omen

Baneful Omen

The Miracle Worker precon could use a few upgrades on enchantment top end. Baneful Omen is perfect for getting the job done. If you miracle it in, it’s only 3 mana. Since this deck has a fair amount of high-CMC miracle cards and enchantments, this can dish out some serious damage over a game.

#4 Brainsurge

Brainsurge

Brainstorm’s newer brother, Brainsurge, was just printed in Modern Horizons 3 earlier this year. Drawing 4 cards for 3 mana at instant speed is strong, and putting cards back on top of your library is actually an upside here.

#5 Temporal Mastery

Since we’re going to be running topdeck manipulation and scry cards, we should also be running a few classic Miracle cards as win conditions. Who doesn’t like a good two-mana Time Walk? While “taking turns” decks are generally frowned upon in Commander, having a single copy that is on-theme is A-OK in my book.

#6 Long-Term Plans

Long-Term Plans

Long-Term Plans is a casual tutor that is generally accepting of tables of any power level. It’s 3 mana and takes a few turns to get it into your hand. Thankfully, putting it on top of your library is actually a benefit in this build compared to putting something in your hand.

#7 Mystic Speculation

Mystic Speculation

For three mana you can keep scrying 3 every turn, and in a pinch you can effectively scry 6 for 4 mana. This is a scry engine right up there with Sensei’s Divining Top for a Miracle deck.

#8 Soothsaying

Soothsaying

Before Sensei’s Divining Top there was Soothsaying. This works well with the enchantment synergies of the deck while reordering the top to the desired configuration for a Miracle.

#9 Devastation Tide

Devastation Tide

Bouncing everything but lands for only two mana is pretty darn impressive. This will massively slow down the board and is an effective board wipe for the deck. It also helps answer all those popular token-based decks.

#10 Omniscience

Omniscience

Go big, or go home. Omniscience is a powerhouse and it only costs 6 mana when miracled. You better win the game after you play this. You’re going to be the archenemy.

#11 Palantír of Orthanc

Palantír of Orthanc mtg card

Palantír of Orthanc is a relatively new from the recent LOTR set, but quickly becoming a consistent performer in Commander. It gives you scry 2 every turn to help you stack your deck, and your opponent will be forced to give you card advantage or take damage.

#12 Ancestral Knowledge

Ancestral Knowledge mtg card

Finally, we have Ancestral Knowledge. How many cards can dig you 10 deep for only 2-3 mana? This is sure to find the answers you need to advance your board state, stop threats, and win the game.
