MTG Insider is dedicated to providing you with the latest and most complete news coverage from the world of Magic: The Gathering. Launched in July 2023 by Brian McCormick, an avid MTG player since the release of Mercadian Masques in 1999, MTG Insider was founded to address the lack of timely and comprehensive news for MTG players written by longtime players of the game.
Our Founder’s Journey:
In the early 2010s, Brian McCormick co-founded MTG’s largest FaceBook community, Magic The Gathering Rocks My World, which boasts over 250,000 followers worldwide. Brian also co-founded Epicstream.com in 2015 and MTGRocks.com in 2021. He had been writing and editing MTG news content for these sites for almost a decade before founding MTG Insider.
Brian started playing Magic: The Gathering over two decades ago. His first competitive deck was a Psychatog/Upheavel build in Type 2 (AKA Standard). He has been attending tournaments, writing about the game, and building MTG communities ever since.
